This project required Pensar to structurally strengthen the bridge by increasing the capacity of the abutments to increase the load capacity of the bridge to 40 tonne.

Project Scope
- Crack injection to the abutments and crosshead
- CFRP strengthening to the abutments and crosshead using a combination of fabric and laminate, rods and anti-carbonation coating to all of the strengthened elements
Challenges
- Delayed deliveries due to project supplies needing to be sought from metro areas
- A regular supplier was unable to provide critical materials as committed so Pensar needed to find an alternative local supplier
- Required planning to ensure that all resources were available for the completion of the project
Achievements
- Upon commencement of the project, the scope was extended and completed within the original program
- The project was successfully completed by a small crew as additional labour was unavailable due to Covid-19 travel restrictions
- The successful completion of this project led to Pensar winning future work with the Murray Shire Council
