Pensar is proud to celebrate a major industry accolade for the Wamuran Irrigation Scheme (WIS), which has been recognised with the Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Metro) at the Australian Water Association’s (AWA) National Water Awards, announced at Ozwater’26. The award, presented to Unitywater, celebrates the successful delivery of one of the region’s most collaborative and forward-thinking water infrastructure projects — a scheme that will have a lasting impact on agribusinesses across the Wamuran region for years to come.
Pensar was honoured to have delivered the design and construction of the Wamuran Irrigation Scheme, working alongside fellow WIS Joint Venture partners Lawrence Stephenson of Twin View Turf and Gavin Scurr of Piñata Farms. The project’s success was underpinned by the trust these partners placed in Pensar, along with the significant knowledge and on-ground experience they brought to the table. That shared expertise was instrumental in turning the scheme’s vision into a fully operational system, one that now delivers real, tangible benefits to local growers and the broader agricultural community. For the Wamuran Irrigation Scheme, the innovation was never innovation for its own sake, it was shaped by the practical needs of the agribusinesses the scheme was built to serve and delivered through close collaboration between all project partners. This recognition is a fitting celebration of what can be achieved when industry, government, and agribusiness come together with a shared vision.
