Pensar was engaged by TasWater to complete the design, construction and commissioning of UV disinfection systems across five (5) water treatment plants located on the east and west coasts' of Tasmania.

Challenges
- Limited availability of existing asset information including up to date drawings, locations of assets and unknown services which made the integration of the new UV system into the existing treatment plants operations very challenging
- Advance planning required to ensure there were no delays to the construction program due to works being completed across 5 locations on the east and west coasts of Tasmania, with some being remotely located with challenging access.
Achievements
- Construction works were completed over a month ahead of schedule
- Successful collaboration with client and internal stakeholders ensuring key project outcomes were captured in the design stage and built into the installation works
- Complex water main connections were completed within very short shutdown windows (under 6 hours)
- Zero issues were reported throughout the design, construction and commissioning phases.
