About the project
This project included the construction of a new canoe launching facility. This new piece of infrastructure will encourage and aid the usability of Moreton Bay for kayak and canoe enthusiasts.

Challenges
- Works were completed on a high traffic public road
- Time frames were tight due to work being carried out in a public space
- Procurement of a 150t crane to undertake a major lift on a public road during peak traffic hours
- Transportation of an oversized load from the Sunshine Coast, requiring monitoring from police and a traffic escort to ensure safe delivery of materials
- There was to be no contamination to Moreton Bay whilst constructing the new launching facility
Achievements
- Project was completed with no safety or environmental incidents
- Stakeholder concerns were effectively managed, establishing a positive working relationship
- Work was completed to a high standard ensuring client satisfaction and benefit to the local community
- An effective Traffic Management Plan ensured little disruption to the community
