About the project

Upgrade of existing corroded sewer rising main at the intersection of Lambert Road. The upgrade improved the flow capacity to accommodate increased demand in the region.

Project scope

  • 385m of 630mm diameter PEmain class PN16 installed;
  • 4m deep scour pit in the middle of a roadway
  • Installation of new main parallel to existing 600mm dia SRM that remained live during works;
  • Concrete plugs to decommissioned section of sewer rising main;
  • Co-ordination with QUU for tanker pumping and ow control while main o line for connections;
  • Reinstate the road and footpaths.

Innovations & highlights

  • Live main connections to existing sewer 600mm MSCL under night works;
  • Live sewer manhole connection points for new sewer rising main scour lines;
  • 4m deep scour pit in the middle of a roadway;
  • Installation of new main parallel to existing 600mm dia SRM that remained live during works;
  • Interface with many unknown/ known underground service utilities;
  • Working around a busy Roadway near schools and businesses;
  • High level of community liaison,to ensure the local residents, schools and businesses were well informed on the works to be undertaken.
