Pensar has bolstered its concrete remediation capabilities to match growing demand for repair work on key concrete infrastructure assets.
Pensar has appointed senior concrete rehabilitation expert, Craig McPhillips, to manage the new specialty service area that will sit within its existing Structures Division.
Director of Structures, Tim Down, said Australia was facing a critical period ahead for the identification and treatment of concrete structure problems as ageing infrastructure, environmental impact and other factors caused deterioration of key assets.
“Population growth is putting increasing pressure on some of our most important infrastructure, from water storage and treatment facilities, to bridges and other assets.” Mr Down said. “This means there is a constant need to protect, maintain and extend the service life of these ageing assets,” he said.
Pensar designs and delivers infrastructure solutions across six business units for projects including urban development road, rail, airports, water, power, marine and resources. Its broad spectrum of technical capabilities serves the diverse needs of a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors.
Mr Down said Pensar had been closely involved in several significant concrete rehabilitation projects in recent years, including repairs at North Pine Water Treatment Plant, Lake Manchester Dam, Wellers Hill Reservoir and Pinkenba Base Wharves.
“Early detection and action are crucial, which is why we work with leading engineers to assess concrete structures and implement the latest and most cost-effective remediation solutions available,” he said.
“I am delighted to welcome Craig McPhillips to Pensar and look forward to building on our strong track record of providing and protecting essential infrastructure for our valued clients.”
