Having recently completed the collaborative and comprehensive design phase of a new wastewater treatment plant for Quilpie Shire Council, we are looking forward to commencing construction in February 2025. The treatment plant upgrade will include new automated inlet works, upgraded facultative lagoons for primary treatment, a secondary treatment building utilising RBC units and clarification, chemical dosing, septage unloading and a solar array that should cover the energy costs of the treatment plant during the day.
The finalised design solution emphasises natural physical and biological methods for sewage treatment, greatly reducing the reliance on chemicals and enhancing environmental sustainability.
