We were honoured to be part of NAWIC’s recent Women on the Tools Speed Careering with one of our undergraduates, Zimena Furey sharing her experiences of studying and working in construction. Zimena is in her fourth year of chemical engineering and is out on site playing a valuable role in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure contributing to process design, optimisation and environmental compliance.
It was a great opportunity to showcase the diversity of career pathways in construction and to provide further insight into the skills and roles in demand within the industry and providing the tools for the students to get started. It was inspiring to see so many young women exploring the many career options available to them.
