Capalaba Park ’n’ Ride

Building, Civil

The first of several projects for TransLink, the construction of the Capalaba Park ’n’ Ride busway facility drew on the combined capabilities of Pensar Civil and Pensar Building. Part of TransLink’s $48 million statewide Station Upgrade Program, the facility provides Bayside residents with improved public transport infrastructure and additional parking in the transport hub of Capalaba.

The project involved substantial civil and building works, including bulk earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, concrete works, steel fabrication, electrical services, road furniture and landscaping. Variable ground conditions necessitated the removal and replacement of 9000 m3 of material. Situated in an environmentally sensitive location, on the banks of Coolnwynpin Creek, the project also involved the installation of 800 metres of stormwater pipeline and a filtration system.

The Capalaba Park ’n’ Ride facility was delivered under budget and ahead of schedule to strict TMR specifications and environmental guidelines.

“I have found Pensar to be a highly capable, professional and experienced organisation. Any contractual or construction issues were resolved on site, without the need for dispute resolution. Their project quality control and documentation were amongst the best I have encountered working on Main Roads contracts. Similarly, the project documentation was comprehensive and well controlled.
