Pensar Utilities Water was engaged by Unitywater to complete an upgrade to the Balance Tank Mixing systems at the Burpengary Sewerage Treatment Plant under a Design and Construction arrangement. The project consisted of the following works;

  • Complete CFD analysis of both balance tanks to determine mixing pump size and location as well as structural modifications determined
  • Detailed design for structural, civil, mechanical and process scopes
  • Investigate existing MCC and PLC hardware to determine additional power and control requirements
  • Complete design HAZOP and SID activities
  • Construction of two cast in situ below ground concrete¬†pump pits
  • Install all pumps, pipework, valves and fittings
  • Complete electrical and instrument installation works, including modifications¬†to the plant’s existing SCADA system
  • Commission new mixing systems for each balance tank
